CDC - Key Resource
COVID-19 Information from the INTEGRA Program Team at Anderson Chemical.
We are now well over a year into the COVID-19 Pandemic. While we have learned a lot about this specific coronavirus, COVID-19, how it is spread and ways to slow the spread, there is still much to learn. The scientific community is learning more and more each day. Anderson Chemical continues to study cleaning, sanitizing and disinfecting and its impact on the SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19 virus. We are using information from the CDC, Federal, State and Local health authorities and the scientists in both the industry and acidemia, our internal experts and industry resources to formulate our recommendations as it relates to COVID-19/SARS-CoV-2. At this point, there has not been enough research completed to make “absolute statements” as it relates to COVID-19. We continue to navigate the research and make adjustments when new scientific data becomes available. In the information below we will site the CDC and several links included below go directly to the CDC Web Site as they are the best expert when it comes to COVID-19!
COVID-19 (SARS-CoV-2):
It is important that we all work together to help slow the spread of COVID-19 and provide time for the vaccines that have been developed to work. For that reason, we recommend always following the CDC guidance.
Information about the virus COVID-19 (SARS-CoV-2), Symptoms, Testing, Reducing the spread of COVID-19 can best be address by the CDC. For specific information about the virus, please visit the CDC’s website by using the following link. https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html
Spreading the COVID-19 Virus:
Based on CDC published information, COVID-19 is thought to spread mainly through close personal contact from person to person, including between people who are physically near each other, in the air by coughing or sneezing, touching surfaces or objects with the virus on it and then touching your nose, mouth or eyes before washing your hands are the predominate ways the virus is passed.
Proper Cleaning, Sanitizing and Disinfecting is essential in reducing the spread of COVID-19
- Proper cleaning of surfaces
- Sanitizing and/or Disinfecting of surfaces
- Cleaning and Sanitization frequency
- Hand Washing, Hand Sanitizing and over all good hand hygiene practices
The CDC web site says: Cleaning with soap and water or a detergent removes germs, dirt, and impurities from surfaces. It lowers the risk of spreading infection. Disinfecting with a disinfectant on List N: Disinfectants for Coronavirus (COVID-19) kills germs on the surface. By disinfecting or killing germs on a surface after cleaning the surface, it can further lower the risk of spreading infection. For more information review cleaning and disinfection recommendations for facilities and homes.
What it means to be on the “EPA List N”
The Novel Coronavirus, SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19, has scientists, business operators and consumers alike seeking a response to the pandemic. The products on the EPA List N have been studied by the EPA for fighting this virus and comply with the EPA’s Emerging Viral Pathogens policies. The INTEGRA Program’s goal is to aid in the efforts to stop the spread of SARS-CoV-2 and focus on the health and safety of our community. The INTEGRA Program has products that meet the EPA’s requirements and are part of the EPA’s List N. These products are available as part of The INTEGRA Program.

Surfaces must be Clean before they can be Sanitized or Disinfected
Dirty or potentially contaminated surfaces need to be cleaned on appropriate schedules using chemical and processes designed for both the surface and type of soil.
If a micro level kill step is needed, you will need to determine to what micro level potential pathogens and micro level reduction is needed. Remember, microorganisms are not all bad. Killing good bacteria allows bad bacteria once introduced to potentially grow more rapidly without competition.
Surfaces can be:
- Cleaned
- Sanitized*
- Disinfected*
- Sterilized*
*Each level kills microorganism both a wider verity and higher percentage of microorganisms.
Cleaning Frequency
Surfaces frequently touched by multiple people, such as door handles, bathroom surfaces, and handrails, should be cleaned and disinfected using a cleaner designed to clean that surface and the proper List N Disinfectant.
- The INTEGRA Program offers full line of cleaners, as well as disinfectants that are on the List N Disinfectants
More frequent cleaning and disinfection may be needed based on use. For example, certain surfaces and objects in public spaces such as shopping cart handles, and point of sale keypads, should be cleaned and disinfected before each use.
- The INTEGRA Program offers Master Cleaning Schedules, Check Lists and over 200 specific Cleaning Procedures that outline products needed, directions on how to clean and recommended cleaning interval. These are available once logged in as a member to this website.
The INTEGRA Program offers products that both clean and are effective in killing a broad spectrum of viruses. INTEGRA provides the products you need along with the confidence of knowing that you are effectively cleaning and disinfecting. We help you keep your facility safe. You can learn more about our wide range of EPA registered products, including those on EPA List N: disinfectants for use against the novel coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 by clicking on the link below.

Proper Cleaning Procedures and Techniques
Cleaning, Sanitizing and Disinfecting
At INTEGRA, we can help you with a plan for both what needs to be cleaned, as well as how to clean it and how often. These are tailored to your operation.
It is not realistic that all surfaces be sanitized or disinfected.
- CDC does not recommend disinfection of sidewalks, roads, or most other outdoor spaces. Spraying disinfectant on sidewalks, roads, and other outdoor spaces is not an efficient use of disinfectant supplies and has not been proven to reduce the risk of COVID-19 to the public.
- Some surfaces have the potential to be “microorganism spreaders” because of their environment and use.
